UX Writing & Gamification for the best loyalty app.
With around 400,000 active users, the Poinz app is one of the largest customer loyalty apps in Switzerland and is to be supplemented with a new business model. The existing loyalty functionality, which focuses only on collecting bonus points, is to be joined by the new “bargain hunter” world of discounts and coupons.
Thoughtful UX writing, clever gamification, and charming micro-interactions ensure that app users from both worlds feel engaged.
One UI design for two audiences. We combine the best of both worlds in a unified user experience.
The realization that the two subject areas are very different due to user requirements was decisive for the overall user experience of the new app. The newly designed app reflects the two worlds with a clear left-right split in the interface. With clearly structured controls, we create a sharp separation between loyalty and discount.
User-centric push notifications? No problem.
Unnecessary push messages are annoying. So are generic offerings. With an innovative UI element we give the user the possibility to choose both individually in one screen.
Gamification and targeted UX writing also add emotional value to the app.
UX Writing was a key element in this project. We deliberately chose activating and human language when formulating the interaction texts and writing the microcopy. I’m sure you prefer apps that talk to you. And not ones that tell you in a command tone where to click.
And: Status does more than reward. We took this philosophy to heart and included a charming gamification mechanism that boosts multiple uses of the app.
