Your app on the test bench:
User Testing in the Usability Lab.
What for?
User testing is something you should do at every stage of your app project – from the first prototype to the already released app or software. Usability tests show you how your users interact with your application and what complications they encounter during use. This allows design and development teams to identify problems and improve the user experience before costly programming steps are taken. Did you know that it is 5x more expensive to fix a bug in software than to eliminate the problem in the design phase?
How?
During a usability test, actual or potential users perform predetermined tasks in your software or prototype. In the process, all test subjects play through the same test scenarios. Supplemental interviews and questionnaires yield additional insights that help you further develop and optimize your mobile app, website, or software. The test subjects must correspond exactly to the future user group so that you arrive at the correct findings. Especially in the case of medical products or services related to medicines, the “real” users are crucial for relevant results. We can recruit precisely tailored test subjects for you and thus ensure valuable results.
Where.
Depending on the requirements, our usability testing takes place on site (e.g. train station, hospital) or in our own user testing lab. All testings are accompanied and recorded by a moderator and an observer.
With simple paper prototypes, we answer questions about the functionality of your planned mobile app cost-effectively even before the design process.
Our observations in early ergonomics tests form an important basis for the interface design of large-area touchscreens and digital signage.
Usability testing with people with disabilities is essential for products in public spaces. This is how we ensure uncompromising accessibility for your products.
With online tools we can, for example by means of heatmaps, provide answers whether your website or your online store has weak points.
This is how we can support you in usability testing:
Prototyping
You want to test a product vision or a new feature before you put development effort? Based on wireframes or design specifications, our prototyping experts create clickable prototypes for you that deceptively simulate the later user experience. Without a line of code. Even a paper prototype can reveal initial thinking errors.
Qualitative testing
In qualitative testing, customer satisfaction is a priority at all levels. Using various tools, our experts identify the needs of your users in personal contact and create the basis for maximizing usability. You will receive personal test results from approx. 5 test persons per test day.
Quantitative testing
If you want to study the behavior of the users of your app or website on a broad scale, online testing is suitable. You can compare different layouts and navigation structures using methods such as onsite analytics, heat maps, or A/B testing. You get test results from more than 200 people in a period of about one week.
